What you'll see in the demo
In this walkthrough, Oscar from Crobox takes you through the product data capabilities inside the Crobox app. The core idea: the importance of product data is often overlooked in guided selling and product discovery. Crobox helps you humanize that data so the language around your products is genuinely understandable to every shopper — not just the ones who already know the jargon.
Connecting your product feed
The demo starts by connecting your products. Product information usually lives in one or more product feeds, and Crobox can ingest them in several ways — most commonly via a URL that we fetch on a schedule you configure, so any change in your feed flows through automatically. Once products are connected and a target locale is specified, you're ready to work on them.
Product properties and taxonomies
Next, you'll see how Crobox organizes product properties — the categorization of every attribute and characteristic of your products. There are two kinds:
- General properties that apply across categories — colour, price, size.
- Category-specific properties drawn from Crobox's in-house product taxonomies, built on psychological and category research (for example, tailored to hiking).
These taxonomies are the foundation for enriching your catalog and translating product tech into customer language. They also double as the starting point for building guided selling experiences.
Transformation rules: spec language to shopper language
The demo uses a concrete example: your feed might list shoe weight in grams, but most shoppers can't tell whether a 300g shoe is lightweight, medium, or heavy. Crobox's category-specific property weight level expresses that in consumer language. Through transformation rules, you align the raw property in your feed with the value in the humanized taxonomy — once, not manually per product.
Manual enrichment when the feed doesn't have it
If a property isn't in your feed to start with, the Enrichment tab lets you assign values directly to products — for example, labelling a specific shoe as medium weight. Because the transformation rules stay active, manually assigned labels behave just like feed-derived ones, and you can add new products to experiences on the go without touching the original feed. Crobox can also push enriched information back to your own systems so every source stays aligned.
The enriched product catalog
Finally, the demo shows the product catalog view — every product with every property and value, filterable in multiple ways, and drill-down available on any individual product. This is what powers seamless product discovery and well-targeted guided selling downstream.
